The Vision

"A vertical sanctuary in the heart of Minato, where high-tech precision meets Zen-inspired serenity."

Overlooking the neon-lit skyline of Tokyo, The Urban Penthouse is a study in compact luxury and technological integration. We designed the space to be a high-performance retreat for a tech entrepreneur, featuring automated systems that respond to the time of day.

The material palette is a mix of traditional Japanese elements—like shoji-inspired glass partitions—and ultra-modern finishes like carbon fiber and brushed aluminum.

Design Narrative

Gravity and Light

The primary challenge was to create a sense of groundedness on the 54th floor. We used weighted architectural elements and a low-slung furniture plan to lower the center of gravity and create a feeling of security.

Lighting was choreographed to mimic the natural progression of sunlight, helping to regulate the circadian rhythm of the inhabitants in a city that never sleeps.
